With Microsoft Remote Desktop 10 open, go to Connections, Import from Microsoft Remote Desktop 8

**Second Method:** You can also export manually the configuration from Microsoft Remote Desktop 8. Right click the connection and select **Export**. Save the .rdp file to desktop.

With Microsoft Remote Desktop 10 open, go to **Connections**, **Import Desktops...**, select the rdp file you just exported  
If the connection works fine in the new app there is nothing more to be done. Read on if you still have issues connecting.


If you have any issues connecting, verify the settings and username, try again.

Click the cog wheel and select Preferences..., there you can verify or insert User Accounts and Gateway settings.

To use Smart Cards you have to have Nexus Personal software installed on your Mac.

Before you open the remote connection, click on the edit icon

Click on **Local Resources **and check **Smart Cards. **Click on **Save **

The Nexus software has to be running while you are connected to the remote session.
